An interview with Olympus and links

I ran across an interesting article this morning from Imaging Resource.  They conducted an interview with Olympus executives.  Here is the link to the article.  It was interesting to hear Olympus’ perspective of what markets they really cater to.  I find it really lines up with my own experience as well.  The smaller, lighter, and rugged ethos really lends itself to nature and wildlife. In fact any kind of expedition based photography as well.  When every ounce in your pack counts…it is hard to beat M43 system.  Any niche you have found your system to cater very well to?

  1. Hi, thanks for the link to this article, especially the comments. Boy, some people just like to get into their little rabbit holes and keep digging deeper!

In response to your question, I’ve found my two EM-5 IIs great for street events such as political demonstrations. I’ve had a long term project of photographing all the major environmental protests in my area using a combination of the EM-5s and the 24-80mm and 75mm lenses. Since covering these events can mean a lot of moving around including both running and walking for a long time, the light weight and and responsiveness of the camera/lens combinations is big help.
