What happened to this site! It’s been several months of quiet with no updates! What is going on! Well, I feel kinda like this heron. I have been lighting focused on my business and my head completely immersed.
Maybe some of you know, but I actually am a freelance commercial photographer by trade. I shoot architecture and products for advertising to actually pay the bills. That is actually where my income comes from. I don’t “teach” photography or run workshops (though that would be fun), I don’t sell stock images, I don’t make a living from my e-books…I survive by licensing and creating images for clients. Yes, it is hard. Yes it is a business, and businesses have ups and downs. I do not shoot weddings either. Since about April of this year, a new marketing initiative started paying off that I had tested the waters on over a year ago. I have to be honest, but I have thankfully been busy. Very busy. Paperwork, phone calls, meetings, planning, scouting, contracts, editing, shooting, proofing, finalizing, traveling, etc… I have been going back to back and had seriously not had a chance to do anything else. And when you have family and other things tugging at you for those last couple free hours in the week, this site fell into second priority.
I do have to say thank you for all the patience and understanding my audience has. I also have to say thank you for the emails checking in on me! That totally caught me off guard! You all are awesome.
So I will be committing to this site again. I have so much built up to share. I have had so many unique situations with the m43 world that I think will benefit a lot of us. I will be doing my best to post at least weekly again. I may fall of the wagon here and there, but I will do my best. There is so much coming up in the mirrorless world, and the Olympus world especially.
Photography as a living has actually given me a very interesting perspective I look forward to sharing. I have now had the olympus cameras and lenses outdoors in the heat 12 hours a day for several weeks without skipping a beat. I have put a alot of clicks under my belt with this system just in the last month alone and will be sharing my observations shortly. Also look forward to a great article about shooting under harsh noon lighting and making it look good. (who would have thought!)
Thanks again everyone for being patient!
