Lightroom 6.9 update available with E-M1 mkII support

Lightroom 6.9 is now available!  You can find out how to update from adobe’s site here.

The latest update offers full color support as well as High-Res file support.  There is a new color profile as well via the calibration tab in the develop module.  Adobe offers “Camera Monotone” now.  I wonder if this should have been camera monochrome as it is the built in black and white profile of the E-M1 mkII.  It looks good, especially on portraits.

With file support finally available I have already begun the work of updating my presets and developing some new ones for the 20mp sensors and high-res mode.  To everyone who has downloaded my presets, you will get an email with the update files.  I am hoping to have them to you asap…but no time frame specifically.  There is a lot in the pipeline and so little time in the day…but its coming!  Especially a few special items that almost everyone has been asking me for!  And…a couple surprises…Stay tuned.

By the way…thank you to all of you who sent me emails when the lightroom update became available!  I know many of us have been eagerly waiting!

  1. Hi Tony

From your observation, is Lightroom able to produce the ‘signature’ Olympus Colors?
I’m currently doing my raw conversion in Olympus Viewer 3 in order to get the original Olympus colors but it’s very slow.

If Lightroom is ‘close enough’ to producing Olympus colors, I may consider switching over.

What about other Raw Conversion software like Affinity and Capture One, do you know if they are close enough in producing the ‘signature’ Olympus colors which we know is one of the best.

    Thanks,
    Sunny

    • Capture One designs their own color rendering. It looks good. Very good. It’s just not what you would get if you are expecting a copy of the in-camera color modes. I have not yet used Affinity as a raw developer so I cannot comment on that…but it is a great photoshop alternative and I recommend it highly! In terms of lightroom…with the adobe profiles that mirror the main in-camera color modes, yes Lightroom can match it virtually exactly. I’ll have a review of this up shortly…

  2. LR will not accept the files from my SD cards exposed through the MarkII. Not sure of the best procedure.
